Compressed Air Dryers
Your manufacturing operation needs quality dry air to help avoid the risk of the product contamination and to eliminate the damage to the compressed air system.
The problem and the solution
Compressed air entering the air distribution system is always 100% saturated with water vapour in gas form. When cooling down, the moisture will condense into liquid causing severe damage not only to your compressed air system, but also to your finished products.
Moisture can seriously harm your compressed air system……
On an average day, with ambient air temperature of 25 Celsius and relative humidity of 70% a compressor rated at 200 L/S (424 CFM) will take in approximately 280 Litres (61.6 Gallons) of water per day in vapour form alongside the air.
After compression and cooling the vapour turns to liquid, which will harm your system if not removed. Although the after-cooler eliminates about two-thirds of the moisture or approximately 190 Litres (41.8 Gallons), the remaining one-goes directly into the compressed air distribution system and is capable of causing sever damage. The end result could be high maintenance and repair costs, as well as product spoilage.
…..unless you install a compressed air dryer
To eliminate the problems caused by moisture carryover, Atlas Copco offers a comprehensive new range of refrigerant , desiccant and membrane dryers to precisely match your installation.
Dry compressed air keeps pneumatic systems running smoothly and production lines rolling. It eliminates the need for elaborate separators, filters and condensate drain off points within the distribution system. Dry air from an Atlas Copco dryer protects the system against leaks and pressure drops due to corrosion, saves on maintenance and repair costs, increases the overall efficiency of your compressed air system and is your guarantee of manufacturing a quality end product.
Pressure dew point = the temperature at which moisture begins to condense in a compressed air system.
The Solution’s
Refrigerant Dryers
With the introduction of the latest Atlas Copco high performance FD & FX
refrigerant dryers, you can be assured of quality dry air at all times. Furthermore,
the advanced technology of the units with R134a and R404A refrigerants ensures they are environmentally friendly and that they meet all the current and future international environmental regulations.
Ranges from 13 to 8,480 cfm capacity
Desiccant dryers
Heatless adsorption dryers are designed for economy, reliable operation and low maintenance.
A complete range of environment friendly air dryers are available.
Atlas Copco offers you the range of CD & BD adsorption dryers for exceptionally dry air (-20, -40 and even -70 degrees Celsius) for extreme conditions or where more demanding high quality compressed air is required, i.e. food production, instrumentation, pharmaceutical, medical, chemical industries etc.
Desiccant dryers are designed for continuous, fully automatic operation at maximum flow with an extremely low power, additionally they do not use any refrigerant that can harm the environment.
Ranges from 4 to 5,085cfm capacity
Membrane dryers ![]()
Membrane dryers reduce the dew point by passing compressed air through a bundle of hollow membrane fibres, water vapour permeate
the membrane walls and a small portion of the compressed air then vents to atmosphere to purge the water vapour to atmosphere. The Atlas Copco SD membrane dryers have pressure dew point range of +3 C and –20 C depending on model. Atlas Copco SD membrane dryers are offered with purge control to help save energy.
The compact size of the Atlas Copco membrane dryers make them ideal for point of use where other types are not suitable due to size restrictions. Wall mount brackets are also available.
Ranges from 5.5 to 106 cfm capacity
